We found this lovely resource for brides looking beyond the veil for the wedding accessories. Bride’s Head Revisited was founded in 2002 by Emily Martin and Alexandra Kowalski when they were working together at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Emily and Alex use their love of history and contemporary design when creating their designs. Each is a distinctive couture quality bridal accessory that captures the individuality of each bride. Visit their website to learn more about their designs and where they can be located.

We’ve showcased Chicago’s Left Bank Jewelry vintage jewerly several times and just got these lovely new images from Susan taken by photographer Dawn E. Roscoe. Just something light and easy this Monday.
We found the most exquisite veils – ethereal, wispy, elegant, simple – in other words, hard to find one that’s not perfect for one of our many beautiful brides. The name of the wunderkind is Twigs and Honey, and is the creative outlet of Myra Callan. They just launched their online store (the website takes forever to load, but the store’s perfect).
Twigs & Honey is based out of Salem-Portland, Oregon and officially began in early 2008. Another one of those businesses created after their own wedding. Myra’s graduate educational background focused on environmental, geographic, and atmospheric sciences and those themes can be found in her nature-inspired pieces. Twigs & Honey pieces have an almost organic composition with varied textures, complex colors, and whimsical accents.
The Twigs & Honey line features hair adornments, headbands, birdcage veils, traditional veils, bridal jewelry, belts, boutonnieres, ring pillows, hats, shrugs, bouquets, corsages, and more! The line uses fine silks, feathers, laces, and vintage bits that result in completely unique adornments.
Top: Silk tulle with lace trim veil in ivory -$225
Middle: Bridal or Special Occasion crown – $135 and Rhinestone adorned silk chiffon headband – $210

The bride has found the perfect dress for her coveted wedding and is now ready to accessorize, but what jewelry best complements the dress she has chosen and accentuates her sense of style? A bride should look to jewelry that she feels most comfortable wearing and it’s best to not over-accessorize. A single piece of jewelry that can serve as a focal point is best, while not overwhelming the look. Your choice should Complement (not overwhelm) the dress.
Strapless gowns are a classic yet trendy style for brides, which call for a bold statement piece of jewelry to draw attention to the neckline. For a halter style dress, a bride may choose smaller diamond earrings and a stunning bracelet leaving the focus on the cut of the dress. For a sweetheart neckline, a bride may find the best piece of jewelry to be a beaded necklace or a lariat necklace that accentuates the neckline.
Whatever jewelry the bride may choose, it’s most important that she feels it complements her look and resonates with her own personal sense of style and grace.
