There are so many things to love about the Western & Indian influence found in this beautifully bold, multi-cultural wedding that it is hard to know where to begin! We adore the audaciousness of rich cerise playfully streaming through both the Indian and Western festivities. We swoon over the rich floral mandap and copper-gold sequins adding a modern glam twist throughout. Planning this flawlessly executed "two-in-one" wedding is Strictly Weddings partner, Bliss Weddings and Events who infused Nilay and Becky's celebration with chic, high style and big fun. Capturing the love and excitement of this free spirited pair in complete authenticity with their impeccable eye is Strictly Weddings partner, Studio This Is.

Western & Indian Influences

The day began in the arched ballroom of Chicago's JW Marriott where the wedding party took to the aisle in shimmering silver while the bride wore a striking sari beaded in ornate gold. For the evening nuptials, Becky wore an elegant, one-shoulder wedding gown surrounded by her ladies who donned a modern mix of silver-grey, champagne and gold styles. The reception took place in one of Chicago's most sought after venues, the Bridgeport Art Center "Skyline Loft" which charms countless brides with its rustic elegance, soaring ceilings and unparalleled views of the city. Formerly an industrial warehouse, the Bliss planning team took advantage of its unique nooks to create a one-of-a-kind wedding for bride and groom. "The cocktail hour was held in a transformed loading dock," says Bliss owner, Renny Pedersen. "We gave it an uber modern look, laying carpet inside the dock and creating lounge seating areas for guests," Renny adds. Matching the couple's larger than life personality, the Bliss team installed a 60² screen, where they projected and blasted the couples favorite bollywood videos and songs.

More on the couple:

Their story begins as college dorm room neighbors where they met during Becky's first year at the University of Chicago. Nilay confided his feelings for her a year after they met but eight years would pass before their relationship would turn to romance. For those close to the long-time friends, the transition to a two-some came at no surprise. Becky, a small town girl at heart, and Nilay, a tech-loving creative, share many loves - especially music, and balance their professional careers with the simple pleasures in life.
