Christine & Blake's Love Story
Christine and Blake were high school sweethearts! They met in their junior year of high school. They stayed steady for 7 years, through college and their subsequent jobs as accountants. Blake popped the question in New Orleans under the guise of his birthday celebration. In a quaint Cajun restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to Christine who was only mildly suspicious of his order of bubbly in the beginning.
Austin Wedding Venue with a View
The event was planned at the elegant Austin Country Club. The club is able to accommodate a large number of guests and Christine and Blake planned for 500. With its breathtaking views of Lake Austin and the rolling hills, the venue was perfect for their big day. The soon-to-be bride wanted a simple pink and white theme, with lots of flowers and classy touches.
Stunning Custom-Designed Wedding Gown
Speaking of classy, Nardos Iman, the wedding dress designer, used that exact word to describe Christine. "She reminded me of Kate Middleton," she said. So, she designed a gown with luxurious fabrics and ornate beading. Chantilly lace formed the base layer of the gown and the designer used a light scattering of Swarovski crystals and fabric floral elements to incorporate additional layers, giving the gown a sense of depth and subtly ornate texture to the finished piece. The result was a masterpiece! Christine originally intended to change into another gown for her reception, but remained in her once-in-a-lifetime dress for the entire evening - a true show of devotion to the design, which weighed 25 pounds. Her gown is currently on display in the Nardos Imam studio.
It's All in the Details
Exquisite custom furniture adorned the reception hall. Comfortable settees, chairs and sofas with pink and gold throw pillows were strategically placed outdoors and in the lounge area to give guests a comfortable place to gather. Gold glass-topped tables added a sophisticated touch to the reception. Pink and gold sequin table cloths were used to make the lighting dance throughout the room and add a subtle sparkle.
Wonderful White Wedding Floral Arrangements
The floral arrangements were like bursts of white clouds with peonies, roses, hydrangeas and orchids. Pink and green flowers were peppered in to give the décor contrast. Flowers flowed from a variety of glass vases, pewter urns, small bouquets and draped garlands throughout the reception.
Wedding Cake Wonder
We were truly amazed by the wedding cake. Five tiers of delicate spun sugar flowers cascaded over the cake. It was so beautiful, that the cake table became the focal point. Live flowers accented the cake and poured from the table to give it even more of a waterfall effect.
A Charitable Wedding Idea
The bride and groom asked their guests to give donations in lieu of gifts. Guests penciled in the charity of their choice on paper hearts and dropped them in the glass bowl. The bride and groom loved the idea of giving back to all their friends and family who have supported them throughout the years. And we love the idea of a philanthropic wedding.
Congrats Christine and Blake! We loved your sophisticated wedding and all the work you put into the details.
