Michael and Tatiana's love is not only one of true soul mates, but a couple whose Miami wedding makes our own hearts skip a beat. Photographer Ricky Stern captured the special moments of their dream day at the Westin Colonnade, sharing with us their blush, ivory and metallic toned wedding complete with a blizzard of confetti and a robotic laser show. Sit back and enjoy a beautiful love story.
Fate Steps In
For a couple that first set eyes on each other in the 3rd grade, you can say it was destiny. They could barely remember each other from those times, but it counts and they remember their little hearts broke when they parted ways to attend different schools at a young age. It wasn't until college that fate brought Michael and Tatiana together again in 2012 while out for a mutual friend's birthday. From that day on, they were inseparable.
Tatiana from HBO Latin America Group is the only girl of four born in New Brunswick, NJ and raised in Miami, FL with a Colombian background. Michael also raised in Miami with a Cuban and Puerto Rican background is the oldest of three siblings and the VP of Operations for National Truck Center. They are soul mates.
Fairy Tale Proposal
Their engagement was a "fairy tale come true," says Tatiana. It began with a relaxing weekend at The Viceroy Hotel in Brickell, a time to unwind and enjoy time together. She never imagined it being THE weekend. Dinner was at The Rusty Pelican and as they "waited" for the table to be ready, Michael took her for a walk outside. In front of the breathtaking Miami skyline, Michael got down on one knee. He had to ask her to stop kissing him to let him talk. "I finally landed back on earth after floating on cloud nine for a few seconds to say 'yes' as he slipped the ring on my finger," she explains. When she turned around her family and Michael's family were standing behind them, witness to the beautiful and unforgettable moment. Their proposal didn't end there. Michael had one more surprise in store for his bride-to-be. They were not actually waiting for a table, but a private dining room where all their friends and family greeted them with shouts of "surprise and congratulations" cheers.
Miami Wow Factor
Tatiana is not one who planned her wedding as a little girl. But, with a ring on her finger she took to Instagram and Pinterest for her inspiration. Her vision was one of blush tones, classic ivory and mercury metals, including gold, silver and rose gold. With a desire for a classy, yet romantic wedding and one that reflected her personality, she and Jessica's Events set out to create a true dream day. She definitely attained the WOW effect she desired and at the same time she ensured that the true meaning and significance of the day was not lost. A day that clearly illustrated the love and happiness she and her groom share, celebrating with their closest friends and family.
She wore a Galia Lahav gown that hugged every Colombian curve, making her simply radiant. Her finishing touch was a pair of Christian Loubiton heels. Her bridesmaids wore floor length dresses by The Dessy Group in a perfect petal pink.
Celebrate Good Times
Equally important was a fun factor for this bride and groom. Tatiana and Michael did not want the typical "Hora Loca," Spanish for "The Crazy Hour," a show where performers wear flashy outfits, resembling those from Brazil's carnival, and pass around glowing lights, party hats and masks to encourage guests to dance. So as a last minute addition, they incorporated a concept popular at Miami nightclubs and added a dancing robot to compliment a laser show for their guests.
Once the celebration came to end, Michael and Tatiana took to the French Polynesia where they spent their honeymoon in Moorea, Bora Bora and Le Tahaa for two weeks. For a couple that have been married for just under 60 days and already share a lifetime of love, we wish these soul mates one blissful journey!
