From the beginning, Kyle and Hillary charted a course for romance. Their luxury oceanside wedding in Southern California at The Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel was no exception. Studio 22 Photography tells this intimate love story through the beautiful images taken that day.
Set up by a mutual friend, Kyle and Hillary both stated "this is not a date," but when drinks turned into dinner they both realized that everything was falling into place. Thoughts shifted and feelings changed, just like the wind and the water. After spending seven months dating, Kyle and Hillary set sail for a lifetime together.
Pacific Ocean Views
Kyle proposed in February. They were on their way to dinner to celebrate the closing of their first house. On their way there, he stopped at a spot outside their office as they work together for the same company. Down on one knee with a ring in hand, he asked Hillary to marry him. "Really" is all Hillary could say because she couldn't believe her good fortune or that he was actually proposing.
The couple wanted a small intimate wedding with only family at the ceremony. Deciding on a semi-destination wedding, with her parents living in SoCal, they chose The Ritz with its beautiful views overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Pink Peonies with Champagne and Ivory Accents
She wanted peonies to highlight her day. Working with A Good Affair and Square Root Designs, they incorporated them into the floral arrangements and accented them with champagne and ivory tones. Champagne sequin linens graced the pedestals at the ceremony and reception and the event was set a glow with candlelight and outdoor chandeliers. Bringing a sense of abundance and luxury to the day. Hillary's mom and the vendors she worked with created Hillary's vision with perfect precision, right down to the wedding favors placed at each guests' seat made by Bottega Louie.
Monique Lhuillier and Christian Louboutin
Hillary's dream gown was one of designer Monique Lhuillier's, which fit Hillary with perfection. She paired the gown with Christian Louboutin wedding heels. Taking center stage though were the family heirlooms and special pieces she chose for her jewelry.
Each piece of jewelry played an important role that day, each with its own special story. With a love for sapphires, her engagement ring is a combination of sapphire stones from a ring of her mother's. She and Kyle created a unique piece they designed for the current setting. Her additional rings with the sapphire and aquamarine bands were a gift from her mother for her wedding that she wears on her right hand as well as the larger diamond band which was also a gift from her mother.
The frog pin she wore belonged to Hillary's grandmother, a family piece, as she collected pins and gifted them to Hillary's mother, Heather. French, ivory hairpins, belonging to Hillary's namesake and great-great-grandmother, Beatrix, were used to accent her hair that day.
The emerald and diamond Cartier ring, what she exclaims is the most spectacular piece, is also Hillary's favorite. It was custom made for Hillary's grandmother by Cartier. When Hillary was born, she was her grandmother's first grandchild. She was so ecstatic that she brought the ring and gave it to daughter, Heather as a gift for her having her first grandchild. Hillary then wore this piece as an accent ring on her dream day.
And the necklace Hillary wore was the stone from her mother's engagement ring from Hillary's biological father, who passed away when she was young. The side stones are from her ten-year anniversary band. Gj, Hillary's "adopted" stepfather, then took them and made them into the necklace for Mother's Day three years ago. She was breathtaking. Kyle's first look reaction told the whole story.
Setting Sail for a Lifetime of Happiness
As the celebration to commemorate a lifetime of happiness ended, Kyle and Hillary shared an intimate photo session on "Mahana," their 82-foot Westbay where they will continue to navigate their happily-ever-after together.
