A New Ball Game

Courtney and Michael both attended an Eli Young Band House Party concert at the Texas Rangers ballpark and were introduced by a mutual friend. Not only was the evening a big hit, but also Courtney and Michael quickly realized they were in a league of their own. Michael proposed to Courtney vacationing in St. Maarten with her family on a sunset cruise.

Home Run Wedding

The planning of their wedding revolved around baseball - mainly the season as Michael is a player and Courtney works for the Rangers. So an offseason wedding meant winter, which was exactly what Courtney had dreamed of as a little girl. She envisioned a glamorous, elegant wedding and when she saw the chandeliers at the Piazza she knew it was the venue. Michael voted for the bold color of navy (he was given choices) and Courtney pulled in blush and cream to soften the color palette. The third important element to her vision was a dramatic and beautiful altar that would heighten the winter ambience and present a polished and sophisticated ambience. Darrel Ward Designs incorporated white branches and hanging crystals at the altar with abundant blush and cream floral arrangements.

Bring It On Home

Her most special part of the day was when Michael and she locked eyes on her walk down the aisle. She describes them as an old-fashioned couple, so without a first look moment prior to the ceremony - seeing each other in that moment was one that will stay with her forever. "It was pretty incredible to see Michael get emotional watching me walk toward him, being the 'macho' baseball player," said Courtney.

For a couple that is batting a thousand it is only natural that their dream day would be a home run soiree.
