What happens when two USC sweethearts fall in love, plan a dreamy Pelican Hill Resort wedding and bring Allure Events Atelier and Butterfly Floral & Event Design into the mix? Crazy luxurious things. From the breathtaking ocean views, to the insanely gorgeous flowers, it's a non-stop day of over-the-top splendor planned to perfection and beautifully captured by Lin and Jirsa Photography. Pure, glamour and chic romance is what we have here with Megha and Sonny, who met their sophomore year at USC as next-door neighbors.
Their love story is as enchanting as their multi-day soiree. During their first encounter, Megha through Sonny was a touch on the peculiar side and he thought she was a sheltered and naïve OC girl. Stereotypes they overcame throughout their four years at USC, as they bonded over their love for similar foods, movies and the art of procrastination. Sonny planned his proposal on their anniversary, August 29th, the date they officially began dating. He made her breakfast in bed and planned lunch at the Perch and a stroll through the USC Rose Garden for a wine and cheese picnic. At the Getty, he secretly placed a ViewMaster at a local souvenir shop (a reference to one of Megha's favorite Modern Family shows). While browsing through the souvenirs he told Megha to look at the ViewMaster where a slide show began of images of the two of them. He gave her different reels throughout the day. After lunch, he had a band play their song, "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters. He then took her to Exposition Park Rose Garden where he gave her the last reel of the day with a picture of him on one knee holding a ring. This deserves one collective "aweeee" moment!
Vision of Beauty
While planning their wedding day they overcame several hiccups that in the end proved to be serendipitous as it allowed them to bring in Allure Events Atelier and Butterfly Floral & Event Design who saved the day and executed Megha's vision to absolute perfection. Like most Indian weddings, they had multiple events in the days leading up to their big day. They were married on their eight-year anniversary. It was breathtaking and all Megha had dreamed of - if not more.
Pelican Hill Resort Wedding
The outdoor reception was at sunset overlooking the ocean on the Pelican Hill lawn. During the wedding reception they had a special appearance by the USC Marching Band, which led them to the party indoors with a full circular bar and lounge setting designed by LM Event Productions and Revelry Event Design where the DJ was setup. The band sparked the energy with some USC favorites including TUSK and the Trojan Fight Song. At midnight, Sonny and Megha had another special appearance by one of their favorite foods, In-N-Out burgers. This marked their officially ending to wedding diet.
