Lauren and David envisioned an intimate soiree with their closest friends and family and it is exactly what unfolded. Dmitri and Sandra Photography was there to capture the stunning details, heartwarming moments and ah-mazing bridal portraits of Lauren in her Casablanca gown. Whisk away to the shores of the Kukahiko Estate for this authentic Hawaiian ceremony rich in traditions and complete with a ukulele.
Rustic Glam Maui Destination Wedding
Inspired by their song "Better Together," Lauren had signs made with those words written on them to hang on the back of their dinner chairs. Other signs were also created and placed throughout that reflected David's Wyoming roots. Instead of a traditional guest book, friends and family wrote words of love and congratulations on a wooden sign that will undoubtedly hang in the newlyweds' home for years to come. Lauren also incorporated her love for her animals into her special day, adding charms with photos of their dogs to her bouquet, which hung by a braid of a small lock of her horse's mane. She also took real horseshoes and glittered the tips to decorate the tables. Every detail held so much meaning for the couple, and it made the celebration that much more special.
"I love the idea of "rustic glam" for decor. David is from Wyoming and I ride and show paint horses so we both can embrace our inner Cowboy/girl but we also have a taste for the finer things in life. I love all things bling, so some sparkle and a chandelier were definite must haves! Tropical florals and warm gold accent pieces seemed like they would just add a little something extra to an already exceptionally beautiful wedding location," said Lauren, the blissful bride.
Bridal Advice:
"I think having a coordinator is money well spent as far as your sanity goes! Bliss made our lives so much easier along the whole planning process, knowing that someone who really knew what they were doing was guiding us and holding our hands through the process. I felt very little stress throughout the whole planning process right up until the day of. My biggest worry was how the weather was going to be! It was great to have peace of mind that everything would come together and that I could sit back, relax and just enjoy this special day (that goes by in a flash) with my new husband and our friends and family! I'm already planning that at some point we will go back to Maui to renew our vows and Darren will be the first person I call when we are ready to do that!"
