Modern Wedding Inspiration Infused with Old World Charm

As jetsetters, husband and wife duo Scott and Cara Nava of Carasco Photography are in constant admiration of the brilliant architecture abroad like the beautiful 16th century villas in Italy. Years ago, they photographed an intimate wedding at the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum and fell in love its terra cotta rooftop, quaint courtyard, panoramic terrace overlooking a hillside waterfall and Renaissance garden. Drawing upong their travels for inspiration and embracing the opportunity to create a visual story through the lens from the golden hour to nightfall this epic editorial was shaped. The Villa seamlessly lends itself to the Old World charm and intertwines with the contemporary designs of the wedding gowns. When conceptualizing the styling for the Renaissance garden look, they chose Ines Di Santo's "Julia" gown which is comprised of glorious layers of embroidered and gold pailettes tulle. For the sunset scene, a glamorous Berta gown with a lacey silhouette and plunging backline that paired perfectly with the terrace and ironwork at the Villa's entrance. Event designer, Kesh Designs created the romantic garden tablescape scene in front of the water stairs, using the Julia gown as her muse for the floral design. The floating orchid petals and hanging globes created a flow to match all the details of the Villa. The table was layered from top to bottom with a bed of lush white roses, hydrangeas and cascading orchids. Custom chair sleeves were designed for this table pulling some details from the villa and gowns. Soft tulle and rosette fabric added to the soft and romantic look for the chairs. Don't even get us started by Elysia Root Cakes eight-tier cake with its lush floral ruffles! The end result with this A-team of wedding professionals is not only a dramatic love story, but one that truly showcases modern wedding inspiration infused with Old World charm with an aristocratic style.
