It was truly hard not to think of one of our all-time favorite John Hugh movies when gushing over today's featured wedding from BeatBox Portraits. And we feel like we won't be the only ones. Our Pretty in Pink fans need to see this summer wedding out of Texas at the Dove Ridge Vineyard. It is not only crazy beautiful, but has a playful and definitively modern edge without losing any of its traditional charm. That's just one of the reasons pink makes its way into so many weddings too. The color is incredible versatile as Meagan and Cameron's day goes to show. Although, their story is far from the silver screen romance of Molly Ringwald and Andrew McCarthy. These student athletes from Hardin-Simmons University who became teammates for life shared their dream wedding that earned an MVP with us.
Meagan, a modern day southern bell, grew up grew up on the volleyball court with long practices and late nights. Similarly, Cameron was working hard on the football field. Their dedication to their respective sports led them to Hardin-Simmons University where they both became Cowboys playing for their school. They connected as friends attending school events where they could spend time together. For the next few years, Meagan and Cameron became the team they never knew they needed. Having workouts, classes, practices, church and trying to balance a social life, they became each other's biggest supporters. The two also brought together the football and volleyball teams at HSU to create a huge support system for all the athletes. The school spirit hit an all-time high as their teams interacted in a way to encourage each other athletically and academically. The teams spent time together going over film, working out, and studying for exams. It wasn't soon after college that Cameron got down on one knee and asked Meagan to be his teammate for life. As the planning process began, Meagan knew she would have a whole team of people behind her when needing to make big decisions about their big day. Meagan wanted a romantic, summer wedding filled with pink flowers and good company. When they day came, Meagan and Cameron exchanged their vows surrounded by 300 of their biggest supporters, teammates, family, and even rivalry team friends. They knew that no matter what differences people had, they were all Team Meg and Cam. Even though we think our Pretty in Pink fans need to see this summer wedding - it's our cheerleaders for love that need to continuing believing in romance. Their story makes it one worth rooting for everyday!
