Fondly known as Canada's "Castle in the Rockies," the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel plays host to many mountain fairytales like today's winter wonderland wedding in Banff. Ever since Ashley could remember she'd being dreaming of marrying in a castle. Her fairytale became a reality, beginning with a "will you" from David and an "I Do" at her winter wonderland wedding in Banff as ENV Photography so magically captured. Every moment in between shined with personal style and intimacy. Best described by Ashley herself, her day unfolded as a "jewel-toned moody winter romance." The luxurious feeling of the venue meant décor could be kept simple. Added floral by Willow Flower Co. in deep pinks, purples and reds with lush greenery and gold accents defined the space while bringing color to her winter wonderland wedding and moving away from the predictable winter white. A dose of drama set the tone in her dark-charcoal-almost-black stationery suite by Elli.

Lucky for Ashley, her winter wonderland wedding in Banff was right in line with David's. An intimate wedding celebration in the mountains surrounded by their closest family and friends. For the ceremony, the gorgeous Angus Room spoke for itself. Floral arrangements were only added on to the oak pillars and a white aisle runner lined with petals to define the space. For the reception, they also kept it relatively simple, as it was an intimate dinner with their 20 guests. The best part about an intimate affair is that they all sat at one long table, and share the evening with every single one of their guests. They purposely chose not to cover the oak table with any linens and instead chose to decorate it only with a long garland made of lush greenery and flowers with charger plates, satin napkins, and matching stationery to each place setting to finish the table design. It was important for their wedding day to be a truly Canadian celebration, so in addition to highlighting the beautiful Canadian Rockies, they also made the deliberate choice to serve Alberta beef tenderloin featuring local ingredients as well as wines from Mission Hill Family Estate Winery in British Columbia. David whom is from Mexico, wanted to honor and showcase his bride's Canadian heritage for "part 1" of their wedding. Because part two, they headed to Mexico a month later for a true fiesta to celebrate his culture and heritage. One of Ahsley's favorite details of the day was the hand painted jacket done by Amelia of Wink Ink Design Co, that boated her new last name - Mrs Cruz - bravo on your winter wonderland wedding in Banff - truly a fairytale.
