Now, THIS is a seriously dramatic backdrop.

We can’t imagine a bolder way to inspire awe in your guests. The natural world makes a stunning location for a wedding, and there’s so many different types of outdoor locations out there for you to choose from. Be it forest or field, ocean or desert, you can never go wrong with a dramatic site of natural beauty.

Vineyards are pretty synonymous with romance, but that’s typically more associated with dates rather than actual weddings. So we were delighted to see this magical occasion landing in our inbox.

With its lush, rolling hills, peaks and troughs, and countless trees dotted across each one, this scenery provides a breathtaking panoramic spectacle, reaching out as far as the eye can see.

For anyone who hasn’t heard of it before, the Chateau Le Dome is set in the heart of Malibu’s vast mountain range. You don’t get much more impressive than that. Plus, you get the added bonus of Malibu’s warm, golden sunshine, to fill your day with warmth and beauty.

The two long outdoor dining tables were positioned right at the top of one of the vineyard’s largest hills. This created the impression of the ceremony being perched at the top of the world - with views like this, your guests would never run out of things to talk about!

From this stunning and totally private point, the designers got to work creating a simple venue design, which was both understated and yet full of fun.

Donuts on a stick? Yes please. An apple pin-up message board? We love it. Plump leather floor cushions? Don’t mind if we do. With the help of talented vendors, it’s easy to infuse your personality into your occasion in a way which is still fabulously stylish.

The couple also used their own hashtag for the wedding, which made it easy for guests to swap and share photos of the day on social media. Plus, it created a super cute digital album for everyone to scroll through and add to.

We adore the way long wooden beams were used to create an open-air natural stage which could not be more resonant of the continent. This created a beautiful focal point, without adding any bulky or obstructive elements.

The frame was decorated with lush wildflowers (including long stems of pampas grass) and billowing, draping fabric. It looked like it was almost as much a part of the landscape as the trees.

To complete the romantic, rural fairytale wedding, strings of fairy lights stretched across the aisle and the tables, which gently twinkled as the sun set behind the hills.
